This community is hosted by Phoenix Freedom Wigs South Africa and was created to provide a safe and supportive space for people experiencing medical hair loss, including alopecia, chemotherapy-related hair loss, and other conditions that result in partial or complete hair loss.

Around the world, many countries have established national support organisations such as the National Alopecia Areata Foundation in the United States, Alopecia UK, the Alopecia Areata Foundation Australia, and Alopecia New Zealand. These communities help connect people, provide support, and raise awareness for those living with medical hair loss.

South Africa currently does not have a central national support community in the same way, and this group is the first step toward building that network locally.

Like the phoenix rising from the ashes, this community is about rebuilding confidence, finding strength through shared experiences, and reminding one another that we are never alone in this journey.

As this group grows, our goal is to expand beyond the online space and establish local support groups across South Africa, where members can meet in their areas, share experiences, support one another, and build meaningful connections.
